Under the microscope
Depending on the application there are different possiblities to "apply" the Outlast® technology:
- Outlast® Thermocules® in fiber: Here the microcapsules are located inside the fibre. The fibers are spun to yarns being manufactured then to socks, underwear or knitwear. These are all products being worn very near to the skin.
- Outlast® Thermocules® as coating on textiles: Different materials can be coated. For many products (e.g. sleeping bags) nonwovens are coated, for example. In jackets coated linings are used, but it can also be applied to midlayers put between the first layer and the lining. In that case manufacturers are free to choose any design and first layer they want.
