Harvard Medical School recently did a study that gives six major reasons to get a better night's sleep:

Memory. Sleep helps the brain commit new information to memory.
Metabolism. Lack of sleep can cause weight gain and affect our appetite.
Safety. Sleep deprivation can cause falls, medical errors and road accidents.
Mood. Sleep loss results in irritability, lack of concentration and mood swings.
Heart health. Poor sleep is linked to hypertension, stress and irregular heartbeat.
Disease. Lack of sleep degrades the way our bodies fight disease.

Benefits of Outlast Bedding

One of the most important factors to a good night's sleep is the sleep environment. Bedding, one of the main components of a sleep environment, plays a significant role in achieving a restful sleep experience.

This study was conducted to create an evaluation method for sleep quality based on the thermal properties of mattress pads. It investigated the impact that bedding with heat and moisture management technology has on a person's sleep experience.

Subjects for this study were male individuals with a Body Mass Index (BMI) fell within the range of 18.5 to 25. All subjects were determined to be both mentally and physically sound, with no prior history of sleep disorders. Sleep quality was measured by evaluating the physiological and psychological responses of subjects while they were sleeping. Read more about methodology and results.

Outlast commissioned c.russ NETCONSULT to conduct a study that would demonstrate how humidity - specifically absolute humidity - develops when using bedding products with and without Outlast® technology. This test serves to illustrate the effects of imbalanced body temperature on sleep disturbances, while supporting the development of sleep and bedding systems with high comfort potential.
